Authentic architecture in harmony with its surroundings
In a street dominated by typical Brussels townhouses and the L. Blandot municipal school, this project blends seamlessly thanks to a contemporary interpretation of the classic Brussels architectural style. The design, featuring elements in architectural concrete, is expressed through an elegant front façade with vertical windows, subtle horizontal accents, and a pronounced cornice, inspired by the traditional three-bay structure. Recessed windows ensure privacy for the bedrooms, while a green crown atop the façade provides a unique finishing touch. At pedestrian level, the open façade offers a clear view of the green inner courtyard, accessible via a steel gate leading to the ramp and interior courtyard. A successful combination of classic charm and modern functionality, with a green heart for all residents.

Smart and sustainable design focused on privacy and greenery
The inner area combines aesthetics and functionality. The existing party wall forms the northwest boundary, while a stylish colonnade frames the communal garden and organizes circulation. The two lower levels are situated beneath this colonnade, while the upper cantilevered plateaus offer stunning views of the green garden. To ensure optimal privacy and sun protection, the upper residential levels are equipped with private walkways and adjustable wooden sliding panels. The flat roofs feature solar panels and green roofing for an eco-friendly touch. The rear volume is carefully designed to avoid any disturbances or privacy concerns. An elegant outdoor staircase connects the cantilevered terraces, which not only provide a unique look but also regulate sunlight on the northeast façade. The southwest façade enjoys views of the communal garden and natural shading from adjacent party walls. A harmonious design where privacy, sustainability, and residential comfort come together.

Green living in the city: space, sustainability, and shared comfort
This project transforms a densely built plot into a green oasis with an open inner area. By avoiding the privatization of ground-level outdoor spaces, the entire surface is accessible to all residents. Green roofs, living walls, climbing plants, and water features not only contribute to sustainable rainwater management but also help reduce the urban heat island effect. The communal spaces are filled with greenery, with climbing plants transforming vertical walls into a natural environment.
